Welfare center opens FUTIAN Welfare Center, a project under a public-private partnership, was put into operation Tuesday to serve elderly residents with Shenzhen hukou in the district. The service includes accommodations, meals, caretaking and nursing, medical care, disease prevention, fitness and entertainment. GPS checks HEAVY vehicles in the city that fail to have a GPS installed and connected to the city’s monitoring system, or have their GPS data modified, will be fined 500 yuan (US$73) for each violation. Traffic police recently launched an action to ensure all heavy vehicles have a GPS. Between January and July, traffic police checked a total of 12,885 vehicles, 92 percent of all the vehicles that were subject to inspection. New viaduct A VIADUCT project where Xiangmihu Road turns onto Shennan Boulevard has been completed and was put into operation Sunday. Southbound vehicles on Xiangmihu Road can turn east or west on Shennan Boulevard through the viaducts. Previously, vehicles heading east on Shennan Boulevard had to drive to Binhe Road and make a U-turn onto Shennan Boulevard. Fake brand phones THREE people were sentenced to two to three years in jail by a Nanshan court for infringing on trademark rights and manufacturing fake Samsung and Apple phones.
