Illustrations

Twenty-five Hans Christian Andersen Award winners are exhibiting more than 300 illustrations in Shekou. The award is named after Hans Christian Andersen, the 19th-century Danish author of fairy tales.

Relics

Pieces of Hongshan jade, Majiayao pottery and ancient porcelain collected by Xiangshan Art Museum are on display at the museum. The Hongshan culture was a Neolithic culture in northeastern China. Hongshan sites have been found in an area stretching from Inner Mongolia to Liaoning and dated from about 4700 to 2900 B.C. The Majiayao culture was a group of Neolithic communities who lived primarily in the upper Yellow River region in eastern Gansu, eastern Qinghai and northern Sichuan. The culture existed from 3300 to 2000 B.C.

Ink paintings

Shenzhen painter Zheng Taijun brings together a number of his large-scale paintings and installations at his exhibition.

Prints

Japanese print artist Harumi Sonoyama is exhibiting his works at the “From Object to Light” exhibition at China Printmaking Museum. Well-known for realist techniques and photo-like print works, Sonoyama uses the most traditional printmaking techniques, the stone and copper plates, in his work.
