Guide dog to help blind people in Xi’an starting October
    2018-08-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A trainer teaches a black Labrador named “Heimei” how to integrate with human society at a Metro station in Xi’an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, yesterday. Heimei is the first guide dog in Xi’an and will serve blind people starting October. It is said that more than 100 visually impaired people have applied for the guide service. Heimei is from a local nonprofit institution that engages in the breeding, training and applying of guide dogs. The institution, first of its kind in Northwest China, now has five professional trainers and 26 dogs under training. Once the dogs are qualified to guide visually impaired citizens, they will provide such services for free.   China News Service
