Here comes Mariah Carey

U.S. singer-songwriter Mariah Carey will give a concert in Shenzhen in October, part of her Oceanic and Asian concert tour, “The #1’s Tour.”

Referred to as the “Songbird Supreme” by the Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, vocal power, melismatic style and signature use of the whistle register.

Billboard named her the most successful artist of the 1990s in the United States, while World Music Awards honored her as the world’s best-selling recording artist of the 1990s. According to the RIAA, she is the third best-selling female artist in the United States, with 63.5 million certified albums.

Carey has won five Grammy Awards, 19 World Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards and 14 Billboard Music Awards and has been consistently credited with inspiring a generation of singers.
