THE Beijing International Art Biennale has started receiving submissions, inviting artists from around the world to apply for participation at its eighth exhibition to be held in August and September 2019. The deadline is Dec. 25. The theme for this year’s exhibition is “A Colorful World and a Shared Future.” The organizers want artists to contribute many perspectives for understanding the world and embracing cultural differences, and to address collective issues such as environmental deterioration, terrorism, poverty and artificial intelligence, among others. BIAB, organized by the China Artists Association, was initiated in 2002 to enrich Beijing’s art scene by showing artworks from around the world. The event mainly focuses on painting and sculpture. It has so far exhibited more than 4,000 artworks by artists from 100 countries and regions in previous sessions. (China Daily) |
