My story with piano
    2018-09-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

I started to learn playing the piano at age 7. At that time, I hated piano so much because every day when school was over, I had to go to the piano room to practice for about two hours while others enjoyed playing games. And when weekends came, I had to get up early in the morning to have piano classes.

I was reluctant to learn at that time because I had almost no spare time to have fun and I thought the piano pieces I learned were awful. I finally quit after five years. I couldn’t bear it anymore as my study burden became heavier when I entered the middle school. My parents felt it was a pity and warned me that I would regret the decision to quit.

They were right. As time went by, I began to realize that I had done one of the most regretful things at that time. When I went to high school, there was an annual art festival in our school, where many of my classmates would sign up to show their talent. I was regretful that I could have signed up to show off to my classmates if I hadn’t given up on my piano. I wasn’t skilled enough in piano when I stopped taking regular piano classes. There were many peers who reached level 10 in piano while I reached only level five.

As I grew up, I gradually found the charm in piano. I regard it as the most wonderful instrument in the world. Since my parents bought me a piano years ago, it has given me the chance to play now and then. I can choose a song I love and keep practicing until I get skillful with it, which gives me a sense of achievement.

My thought about piano is totally different from the past. I feel my inner world is like a pool of still water when I hear it. It enables me to put all annoying troubles behind and move on, and I think it intoxicates my mind by osmosis, which makes me more emotional and exquisite.

Piano is my friend. No matter how I am, fine or bad, it is there. When I’m happy, it sends out elegant rhythm. When I’m depressed, it gives sorrowful tune as if it resonates with my emotion.
