Woman detained for contract fraud
    2018-09-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A WOMAN surnamed Mai, who was a property administrator of a housing estate in Guangming New Area, forged authorized seals and resold apartments without the owners’ consent, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.

Mai, aged 43, was engaged in property management and was responsible for helping the owners with subletting the apartments. From her work, she learned that the owners valued profit over the management of the apartments that were used for investment or rent.

Gradually, by taking advantage of the owners’ “negligence,” she forged sales contracts and privately resold the three apartments that were under her management for 3.88 million yuan (US$567,700).

However, as time went on, Mai became wracked with anxiety. Every time she heard a siren or saw a policeman, she felt like the police were coming to arrest her.

Due to suffering from huge psychological pressure, Mai finally surrendered to the police Aug. 29. She has been detained by the Guangming police for contract fraud. (Zhang Yu)
