Zhang Yu JeniZhang13@163.com RESIDENTS are now able to make reservations for HPV9 vaccine injections on the WeChat account of Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as the reservation platform starts its trial operation at 10 a.m. Friday, the center said in a statement Thursday. To make an online reservation, residents must follow the center’s WeChat account, “szcdcepl” (深圳疾控), and enter their real name and ID number on the appointment form. They should also carry their ID cards with them to the vaccination clinics to receive the vaccine injections. The city’s first HPV9 vaccine was inoculated at the adult vaccination clinic of the Luohu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital on Aug. 16. Residents needed to make an appointment in advance on the WeChat account, “Yuemiaoya” (约苗), as the number of vaccinations each day was limited. HPV9 vaccines would be available in Nanshan, Futian, Longhua, Longgang and Bao’an districts and Guangming New Area in early September, according to the center. The center said HPV9 vaccines are still in short supply currently, so residents will have to wait patiently for their vaccinations. The HPV9 vaccines target females between 16 and 26 years old. Overage or underage females are not advised to receive HPV9 vaccine injections and can consider HPV2 or HPV4 vaccines. The age range for females receiving HPV2 vaccinations is 9 to 45 years old, while HPV4 vaccines target women aged between 20 and 45. Residents can make reservations for HPV2 and HPV4 vaccines at local vaccination clinics or on the WeChat account “Yuemiaoya.” It is said that the city’s center for disease control and prevention will subsequently launch online reservation services for HPV2 and HPV4 vaccinations after the reservation platform matures. |
