THE average salary of Shenzhen on-job employees this year is 6,413 yuan (US$936), an increase of 14 percent over 2017, according to a salary guidance report released by the Shenzhen human resources and social security bureau Thursday.

The report surveyed 914 enterprises, covering 38 trades in 13 categories, and took the payrolls of 185,254 employees as samples.

It divided the posts into senior, medium and lower levels, with corresponding salaries of 25,860, yuan, 5,069 yuan and 2,882 yuan, respectively.

Employees working in the finance industry are ranked at the top, with an average of 50,902 yuan per month, followed by 43,426 yuan and 37,309 yuan in the software and information technology and property development industries, respectively.

From the education perspective, the average salary for postgraduate degree holders is 12,389 yuan per month, while the salary for undergraduate degree holders is 10,122 yuan per month.

It is the first time the human resources authority has released a salary guidance for the pharmacy industry.

The survey showed the average salary of factory executives is 11,947 yuan per month, while paychecks to clinical researchers and research engineers approach more than 10,000 yuan.
