断更
    2018-09-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

“断” means to “discontinue,” and “更” is short for “更新,” which means to “refresh one’s social media account status or online novels.” Therefore, this term coined by Chinese netizens means to “stop refreshing one’s social media account status or online novels, often temporarily.” Similarly, another term called “停更” means to “stop refreshing them for good.”

Example:

A well-known online fiction writer has stopped refreshing his works.

I figure you’re talking about the guy behind the alias Tang Jia San Shao. I heard it’s because his wife recently died of cancer.
