Longhua Foreign Language School will join hands with Mission Hills Group to establish a research-led learning experience base at Mission Hills Maker (MH Maker).

The two sides announced their cooperation at a ceremony on September 11.

They had earlier opened after-class art education workshops at MH Maker for students at the school, providing chances for them to learn traditional crafts such as making leather, wood, metal, porcelain, paper and glass handicrafts.

Occupying an area of 20,000 square meters, MH Maker is one of the largest integrated cultural and creative centers in South China and also the largest base for Shenzhen’s middle school and primary school students to learn intangible cultural heritage skills.

MH Maker teachers brought some interactive items to the ceremony like movable-type printing, leather book makers, cotton cloth weaving and creative soft porcelain designs.

Many traditional art works were also on display in the form of paper cuts, natural dyes and stamp printings.

Longhua Foreign Language School and Mission Hills Group also established Shenzhen’s first golf team for primary and middle schools in January this year, with more than 300 students learning golf and golf etiquette at the world’s largest golf club.

“The cooperation will help train our students during the processes, improve their practical capability and break the traditional education barrier,” said Li Yuzhong, principal of Longhua Foreign Language School.
