Holiday Metro service

THE Metro service will be extended to midnight Friday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 for holidaymakers during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, sources from the operators said.

On Friday, Metro lines 1, 5 and 11 will add a total of seven temporary trains.

Line 9 will add four trains between 8:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sept. 24 for the possible surge of riders to Shenzhen Bay Park to enjoy the full moon.

On Oct. 6 and 7, Line 5 will add temporary trains to handle the surge of passengers arriving at Shenzhen North Railway Station.

Ex-manager indicted

ZHANG SHAOHUA, former vice manager of Shenzhen Duty Free Group, has been prosecuted for allegedly taking 4.5 million yuan (US$652,174) in bribes, sources from Shenzhen Municipal People’s Procuratorate said.

Cargo to Vietnam

EIGHT trucks loaded with cargo departed from China South City International Logistics Center yesterday and will travel about 1,300 kilometers directly to Hanoi, Vietnam.

The direct service will save 40 percent of the time and reduce 15 transportation of the costs compared to cross-border transfer services, according to the transport commission yesterday.
