Some physically challenged people pose for a photo before attending the Sixth China Charity Fair that kicked off at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Thursday. A total of 876 projects by 798 charity organizations were presented at the fair. On the first day of the three-day fair, Shenzhen-based Evergrande said it would donate 11 billion yuan (US$1.59 billion) to Bijie City in Guizhou Province for urban infrastructure development in the next five years. Another Shenzhen real estate company, Vanke, donated 200 million yuan for poverty-alleviation projects in cities like Baise in Guangxi and Heyuan in Guangdong. A Sichuan Province-based charity group also donated 10 million yuan for education in Liangzhou in Sichuan. Sun Yuchen
