Car displays to identify drivers
    2018-09-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

RIDERS of app-based cabs will be able to confirm the identity information of drivers and vehicles through the display terminals mounted in the cars, according to the city’s transport commission at an Open Day activity Wednesday, marking the start of the public transportation promotion week.

The new displays will further improve the safety of riders as well as the service level of the cab industry.

The display terminal has been introduced in traditional taxis and won applause from taxi riders.

The daily turnover of passengers using public transport reached 11.60 million in the first half of the year. Among them, the city’s Metro service transported 4.81 million people a day, while buses handled 4.23 million residents daily. Shared bikes provided 2.57 million rides a day.

The city is pushing forward the construction of a public transport network that integrates the Metro, bus and bike services. A public transportation system will be built, including a slow traffic system for walking and biking within 1 to 5 kilometers and a bus and Metro system that covers distances above 3 kilometers.
