Car plate auction

THE average price for a car plate was 58,197 yuan (US$8,434) in the latest monthly auction that ended Tuesday, 1,484 yuan higher than the previous month.

For corporate bidders, the average cost of a car plate was 24,411 yuan, official statistics showed.

Bourse exec dies

XIAO JINFENG, head of the governing department of Small and Medium Enterprise Board of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), was found dead Monday night in his home, police said.

SZSE confirmed Xiao’s death later on its official microblog, saying Xiao had worked diligently, was strict with himself and performed excellently at his job.

Xiao held a doctorate degree in law and was a certified public account. The latest statistics showed that Xiao was a candidate for membership in the 10th Listing Committee of the SZSE.

Road closure extended

POLICE have extended the closure time of the leftmost lanes on the Shenzhen section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway between Hubei-shan Tunnel and Huanggang Checkpoint until the end of October for road work.
