SHENZHEN Metro Co. will complete the upgrade of 1,000 turnstiles at 82 stations to support payment by scanning Quick Response codes with WeChat before the National Day holiday.

The move is to save travelers from having to line up to purchase token tickets. At present, more than 1,900 turnstiles support the QR payment function.
