Satellites launched

TWO remote sensing satellites were successfully sent into space yesterday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China.

The satellites, both part of the Yaogan-32 family, were launched by a Long March-2C rocket with an attached upper stage at 10:43 a.m.

The satellites have entered their planned orbits and will be used for electromagnetic environment surveys and other related technology tests.

New pilot zone

THE country’s first blockchain pilot zone was launched in South China’s Hainan Province on Monday.

Based in Hainan Resort Software Community (RSC), the zone includes a blockchain research institute, which officially opened Monday and was jointly established by RSC and University College Oxford Blockchain Research Centre at Oxford University.

A blockchain institutional innovation center will also be launched by RSC in collaboration with Renmin University.

Import expo court

A SPECIALIZED court was established Monday in Shanghai for the upcoming 2018 China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The court will deal with four types of cases including civil and commercial cases concerning the expo, the conference and exhibition industry, the expo venue, and commercial cases concerning foreign affairs.

Porcine infection

CHINA has confirmed a new outbreak of African swine fever in Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said Monday.

Among 3,358 pigs raised in several villages in the city of Yingkou, 334 were confirmed to be affected and 93 died, according to a China Animal Disease Control Center report.
