Agilawood smuggling A WOMAN was caught smuggling 7 kg of agilawood into Shenzhen from Hong Kong through Shatoujiao Checkpoint on Oct. 10. The woman claimed to have been paid HK$500 (US$64) in commission to help a man carry what he called traditional Chinese medicine materials to Shenzhen. The materials were later confirmed to be agilawood, an endangered plant species that is banned from trading. The toddler followed two women onto the bus, and the bus driver, surnamed Li, thought he was the child of one of the women and closed the door to continue service.
