MORE than 30 world renowned media outlets, including the Straits Times from Singapore, Yomiuri Shimbun from Japan, and Turkish daily newspaper Aydınlık, joined the World Famous Media Shenzhen Innovation Trip from Wednesday to Saturday.

The four-day tour was organized by the Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, the All-China Journalists Association and the Hong Kong Commercial Daily in order to invite foreign media to visit representative enterprises, such as Tencent, Ping An, DJI and CredEx Fintech, and report on the innovative developments of China’s reform and opening up.

The trip was also intended to give foreign journalists firsthand experience of the extraordinary transformation the city has made over the past four decades.

On Thursday afternoon, the media group visited CredEx Fintech, a fintech company based in Nanshan District. Calling itself a world leading mobile credit technology provider, CredEx Fintech aims to support the transformation and upgrade of mobile credit in financial institutions.

In addition, CredEx Fintech has been selected as a case study in China’s fintech industry by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as well as Cornell University.

Levent Ulucer, chief correspondent and head of the China office of the Turkish newspaper Aydınlık, said that the momentum of innovation and achievement among Chinese enterprises is simply incredible.

Agnes Gaudu, a reporter from France, said she had a deeper understanding of Shenzhen and was very impressed by the city’s innovative enterprises and how they have developed so fast.

A number of reporters were very excited about the light show they watched Wednesday night. “It’s very cool. Shenzhen has done a good job in urban development,” said Hanako Moribayashi, a reporter from TV Ashahi Corp.

The delegation visited AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. on Wednesday. It plans to visit Tencent, DJI, the Shenzhen Museum, Shenzhen Inno Park, Shenzhen Talent Park and the Sea World Culture and Arts Center on Friday and Saturday.
