Ukulele festival by the sea

With the theme of “By the Sea,” the fifth Ukulele Music Festival will be held Sunday at Sea World Culture and Arts Center.

Organized by Simple Things, the festival will feature performances by Abe Lagrimas Jr., Benny Chong, Cynthia Lin, Jennifer Leitham, George Elmes and Chris Nudd, as well as a local ukulele orchestra. On Sunday afternoon, there will be a flash mob outdoor, where a group of ukulele players will assemble by the sea to perform the festival’s theme song “We Saw the Sea.” Then at night, the international ukulele masters will perform and talk with the audience at the Mountain View Theater inside the center.

Time: 2-2:45 p.m. (flash mob), 3-6 p.m. (concert), Oct. 21

Tickets: 220-380 yuan (scan the QR code to purchase tickets)

Venue: Sea World Culture and Arts Center, 1187 Wanghai Road, Shekou, Nanshan District (南山区蛇口望海路1187号海上世界文化艺术中心)
