The AG600, codenamed Kunlong, slides on the surface of a reservoir near Zhanghe Airport in Jingmen, Central China’s Hubei Province, on Saturday. Developed and built by the State-owned aircraft giant Aviation Industry Corp. of China, the world’s largest amphibious aircraft carried out its first takeoff and landing on water. It took off from the Zhanghe Reservoir at 8:51 a.m. and stayed airborne for about 15 minutes. It was piloted by four crew members. (Story on P4)Xinhua |
