Co-working platform settles in SZ
    2018-10-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE New York-headquartered co-working platform WeWork has opened its first facility in Shenzhen, aiming to help makers and entrepreneurs in the city start their own businesses with global connections.

WeWork is one of the largest suppliers of co-working spaces for startups, boasting innovative designs for shared work spaces.

The first WeWork office in the city is located in CSCEC Building next to Shenzhen Bay, among the headquarters of a bunch of large corporations, such as Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent. WeWork’s three-story office provides nearly 800 individual desks as well as public space.

“We hope to build a landmark of new-generation entrepreneurship,” said a person in charge of WeWork’s China branch. The platform is targeting millennials who are eager for a vibrant entrepreneurial community, said the person in charge.

Founded in 2010, WeWork has set up 283 co-working offices in 75 cities in 22 countries, providing shared offices and interactive community services for more than 253,000 members. WeWork entered the Chinese market in 2016.
