18 killed, 187 injured

AT least 18 people were killed and 187 injured after a Puyuma Express train derailed in Yilan County, Taiwan on Sunday afternoon, according to CGTN’s latest report. Among those injured, two are from the Chinese mainland.

The Puyuma Express No. 6432 bound for Taitung from Shulin Station with 366 passengers on board derailed at 4:50 p.m. at Xinma Station on Sunday.

Suspects arrested

LOCAL authorities in Central China’s Hunan Province have arrested six people on suspicion of printing and selling over 30.9 million volumes of pirated children’s books worth over 350 million yuan (US$50.5 million).

This sees the largest amount of money involved in any case related to e-commerce sales of pirated children’s books uncovered by the police so far

Ancient tomb found

A RARE ancient tomb decorated with poems and murals was found in North China’s Shanxi Province, the provincial institute of archaeology announced yesterday.
