THE foundation stone of the Bao’an Environmental Improvement Technology Application Model Base was laid at a ceremony in Jiangbi Ecological Industrial Park on Oct. 11.

Upon being commissioned for production in 2020, the base is expected to become a national demonstration base for the environmental protection industry and the R&D of environmental high technologies, as well as an incubation center for environmental service enterprises.

The base will be operated by Shenzhen Shentou Environment Technology Co. Ltd., China’s first professional hazardous industrial waste treatment company. The 1.036-billion-yuan (US$150-million) project will have a processing capacity of 330,000 tons annually.
