职场小白兔
    2018-10-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

“职场” means “workplace,” and “小白兔” means “little white rabbit.” In children’s stories, “little white rabbits” are often innocent, lovely and easily fall prey to big gray wolves. A “workplace little white rabbit” refers to someone who is honest, decent and easy-going, but often underperforms at work because of incompetence. The term caught on after Zhou Hongyi, CEO and chairman of Beijing-based Internet security software provider and search company Qihoo 360 Technology, asked his HR department to fire “little white rabbit-type employees” earlier this year.

Example:

A: 为什么小丽换了几份工作还是不满意?

Wèishénme xiǎolì huàn le jǐfèn gōngzuò háishì bù mǎnyì?

Xiaoli has jobhopped a few times. Why is she still unsatisfied?

B: 她总抱怨上司对她凶,可是她自己工作不努力,是典型的职场小白兔。

Tā zǒng bàoyuàn shàngsī duì tā xiōng,kěshì tā zìjǐ gōngzuò bù nǔlì,shì diǎnxíng de zhíchǎng xiǎobáitù。

She’s often complaining that her boss treated her badly. A typical “workplace little white rabbit,” she doesn’t put in enough effort and underperforms at work.
