Shared bikes

RESIDENTS can now make real-time reports about issues such as the illegal or improper parking of shared bikes and damaged or discarded shared bikes via the municipal transport commission’s official WeChat account “深圳交委.”

The launch of the new function was aimed at regulating the development of the shared bikes industry, commission officials said.

Man fined

A MAN in Bantian, Longgang District was fined 39,600 yuan (US$5,686) recently for occupying 19.8 square meters of public green space and removing the grass without authorization.

The man, who was not identified, said he had planned to harden the surface of the land lot to turn it into a parking space after noticing that the lot was rarely frequented by others.

The man has restored the land lot to its original state.
