Blockchain financing

THE central bank said bubbles in blockchain financing are apparent, and that the government should strengthen supervision to fend off financial risks.

Speculation, market manipulation and other irregularities in blockchain-related investment and financing are common in the country, the central bank said in a working paper released Tuesday.

Foxconn US plant

ELECTRONICS manufacturer Foxconn is struggling to find enough skilled workers for its planned facility in Wisconsin, the United States, and may bring in personnel from China, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The report said Foxconn is facing a tight labor market for the manufacturing plant, which is getting some US$3 billion in incentives from the midwestern state.

Nokia wins deals

FINNISH mobile telecom network maker Nokia announced yesterday that it had signed frame deals with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom worth more than 2 billion euros (US$2.3 billion).

The deals includes deliveries of 4G radio and fixed access equipment, IP routing, optical transport equipment and other services through next year, Nokia said.

Technology park

MIDEA Group has started construction of a science and technology park in western India.

The consumer appliances maker said that it will invest US$184.63 million over the next five years in Ahmednagar in western Maharashtra state to set up the park. The park is expected to start function from 2020, and will produce 500,000 refrigerators, washing machines, water purifiers and water heaters, 1.5 million household air conditioners, 250,000 commercial air conditioners and 4.5 million air conditioner compressors every year.
