人生赢家
    2018-11-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

“人生” means “life,” and “赢家” means “winner.” Coined by Chinese netizens, this term has been around for a while. Literally translated as “life winners,” this term generally refers to those we think of as “successful people.”

Example:

A: 你哥哥还在那家互联网公司做高管吗?

Nǐ gēge hái zài nàjiā hùliánwǎng gōngsī zuò gāoguǎn ma?

Is your brother still working as an executive at the Internet firm?

B: 他辞职了,准备先休息一段时间,然后回学校读博士。

Tā cízhí le,zhǔnbèi xiān xiūxī yīduàn shíjiān,ránhòu huí xuéxiào dú bóshì。

He quit, and will take a break before returning to school to pursue a doctorate.

A: 他刚刚三十岁就财务自由了,又有一对可爱的儿女,真是人生赢家。

Tā gānggāng sānshísuì jiù cáiwù zìyóu le,yòu yǒu yīduì kěài de érnǚ,zhēnshì rénshēng yíngjiā 。

At 30, he has earned enough and doesn’t have to worry about personal finances. He also has a lovely daughter and a son. He’s a life winner.
