AN array of activities featuring the science fiction and fantasy works of French and Chinese artists will be organized in Shekou, Nanshan District, starting Nov. 24. A preliminary exhibition of the artists’ work will kick off at the All City mall in Nanshan District on Friday and will last until Nov. 26.

The activities are sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of Nanshan District and organized by Shekou Subdistrict Office, Science and Fantasy Growth Foundation and Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats.

On Nov. 24, the activity series will officially kick off with a forum featuring renowned French and Chinese sci-fi authors and fantasy artists, including Pierre Bordage, Denis Bajram, Chen Bo, Xu Tianhua and Wang Jinkang, who will share their artistic philosophies with the audience.

The French and Chinese artists are going to engage in talks on topics surrounding sci-fi and imagination.

Many French movies are praised as the most classic works in film. The organizers will also hold movie nights to showcase some of the most recommended French movies for local residents from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Party Service Center of Shekou Subdistrict Office on Nanshui Road from Nov. 24 to 30.

Before these two events, local residents will also have a chance to admire Shenzhen Bay’s night view with the French and Chinese artists on a cruise departing from Shekou Cruise Homeport on the night of Nov. 22. Sci-fi and fantasy enthusiasts will be able to talk with the artists while on board.
