“Magritte’s Room: Song Ling’s Creative Trajectory in 30 Years,” an exhibition reviewing the past 30 years of Hangzhou-born artist Song Ling’s career, is being held. The exhibition includes Song’s 1980s ink painting series “Human · Pipeline,” in which images of humans and pipelines are interlaced in the form of surrealistic schema, revealing the conflict of human nature in the era of industrialization, as well as his 1990s ink painting series “The Meaningless Choice?” His recent “Magritte’s Room” series pays a tribute to Rene Magritte, a Belgian surrealist artist known for creating a number of witty and thought-provoking images.
