THE Air Traffic Control Station (ATC) at the Shenzhen airport made a prompt decision Monday morning to arrange a priority landing for a flight departing from Chengdu to Shenzhen after a passenger on board the flight suffered sudden complications due to a heart disease. According to the Shenzhen Evening News, flight HU7732 was over Zhuhai City at around 10:50 a.m. when the passenger developed an emergency condition due to myocarditis that required immediate treatment. The crew members on the flight reported the situation to the ATC of the Shenzhen airport and asked for approval for a priority landing. While ATC staffers maintained communication with the flight, they notified the Shenzhen airport to prepare to provide medical treatment and the shortest runway to the terminal for the flight to land. Also, the ATC station notified other flights in the air to make way for flight HU7732 to land as soon as possible. In only 35 minutes, flight HU7732 managed to land at the Shenzhen airport and came to a stop at the nearest parking apron at 11:25 a.m. Medical staff dashed onto the aircraft to rescue the patient the moment the airplane door opened, and the patient’s life was saved.
