南山少年创新院小院士高交会路演吸引众多观众

Playing computer games is often related to health risks. However, a bicycle designed by Liu Guandong, a student from No. 4 Primary School of Yucai Education Group, lets people exercise while playing games.

Liu showcased his invention at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Innovation Science Education Base awards ceremony and the Nanshan Youth Innovation Academy Young Academicians Outcome Exhibition, both of which were held on Nov. 17 at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center during the 20th China Hi-Tech Fair.

Inspired by the physical fitness test at his school, Liu’s invention combines the sport of riding stationary bikes with generating electricity for playing games. This invention is interesting and affordable, Liu added.

At the exhibition, Wang Qinghan of Qilin Primary School of Nanshan Experimental Education Group conducted a Perfect Egg Making Machine that can give you the perfect boiled eggs at the press of a button.

The anti-slide manhole covers, invented by Nie Xiaoding, is designed to solve the tendency of manhole covers to lift up by increasing waters during rainy seasons. According to Nie, using a pin plug between the manhole cover and the manhole ring can solve this problem. The solution is low-cost and no major changes are required.

Targeting business conference venues and nighttime food stalls, Guo Minyi, a student from the Taiziwan School of Shekou Yucai Education Group, designed a chair that reminds people when it’s vacant, especially for use in dark places, which solves the embarrassing and unnecessary disputes caused by seat occupying, according to Guo.

There were 10 young academicians that were awarded the title by the Nanshan Youth Innovation Academy at the event. And a total of 21 schools from Shenzhen and Hong Kong were titled member schools of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Innovation Science Education Base.
