Temperature drop

THE temperature will drop to a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius today due to cold air from the north, sources from Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said. Drizzle is expected. The temperature will begin to rise Friday.

Newborn abandoned

A NEWBORN baby girl was found abandoned in a roadside garbage bin near an industrial park in Shajing, Bao’an District, on Nov. 16.

The mother is a 17-year-old woman who works at a nearby factory. The baby was sent to a hospital and the mother has been held for further investigation.

Roadside parking

A TOTAL of 383 parking places in Xin’an and Xixiang subdistricts in Bao’an District will be paid parking, according to a public notice issued by Shenzhen Road Traffic Center, the operator of roadside parking. Residents can check details on the official website of the city’s transport commission and email feedback to the center at taozp@sztb.gov.cn by Dec. 9.

World Children’s Day

THE iconic buildings in Nanshan District were lit up Tuesday night to celebrate World Children’s Day, which falls on Nov. 20.

Joining UNICEF’s global activation to “Go Blue,” Shenzhen, along with other cities like Beiing and Guiyang, also held online and offline events and forums to focus attention on creating a brighter future for children.
