THE construction of the 2nd Humen Bridge, another bridge spanning over the Pearl River, was completed Tuesday.

The bridge will be put into operation next May. The 2nd Humen Bridge runs 12.89 kilometers from Nansha in Guangzhou to Shatian Township in Dongguan and connects with Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway on the east bank of the Pearl River.

It is expected to cut the trip between Dongguan and Panyu in Guangzhou by 30 minutes and greatly relieve the traffic pressure on the Humen Bridge, media reports said.
