Katy Perry tops Forbes’ 2018 list of Highest-Paid Women in Music
    2018-11-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

KATY PERRY toppled Queen Bey’s throne this year with an annual taking of US$83 million, reportedly pulling in US$20 million more than Beyonce who topped the same list last year.

The bulk of her earnings came from Perry’s super successful Witness: The Tour for which she played 80 dates, with each show grossing over US$1 million per show.

Her role as judge on ABC’s American Idol picked up another US$25 million, which incidentally is the biggest paycheck any judge has ever taken home.

“I’m really proud that, as a woman, I got paid. And you know why? I got paid like more than like pretty much any guy that’s been on that show,” Perry told E!. “And, by the way, I love men. So I’m a paid woman and I’m ready for a beautiful man.”

While Perry continues to swell with pride from how well the year has gone for her, it should also be said that the Forbes’ data revealed that “much of” Beyoncé’s profit from the On the Run II tour wasn’t included in this year’s articulate calculations.

But Perry doesn’t seem at all bothered by this revelation. She has her sights set on a new milestone — to push her new single on Twitter. “Who’s ready to gobble gobble? 2 days until Thanksgiving, which means it’s 35 days until Christmas. To get into the holiday spirit check out #CozyLittleChristmas.”
