Smart noodle-cooking robot shines at fair
    2018-11-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TYPE of smart cooking robot developed by a Bao’an company won the hearts of many fairgoers at the 20th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), which wrapped up Nov. 18, with its high-level noodle-cooking skills.

The smart robot can cook various types of noodles, according to a staffer from the Bao’an company known as the Allove Group.

“The noodles are very tasty, with an elastic texture,” according to a resident who tasted noodles made by the robot at the company’s booth.

According to a Bao’an Daily report, unlike traditional ways of cooking noodles, the robot cooks one serving of noodles in only 40 to 60 seconds. It can cook around 500 servings in one hour, which is much faster than manual labor.

The noodle-cooking robot can save time and labor costs for restaurants while maintaining the high quality of the noodles.

A product engineer from the Allove Group explained that the robot has four core functioning areas that can automatically and intelligently store and adjust various kinds of dough. The robot can also interact with humans to make customized noodles according to the customers’ various tastes.

In addition, the robot supports a distant operation function with which customers can order noodles on their mobile devices.

To develop the smart robot, two subsidiaries of the Allove Group spent over seven years and tens of millions of yuan on the concept “Chinese Food 4.0” that combines culinary services including dining-in, takeout and online ordering.

Qian Dong, founder of the Allove Group, explained that the robot can also recommend noodles to its users after a period of time based on its analysis of big data.
