THE month-long Xixiang Subdistrict Cultural and Art Festival has concluded recently with a grand ceremony, after showcasing the achievements of Xixiang Subdistrict in culture and art.

The closing ceremony of the festival started with a song-and-dance performance by 40 synchronized public dance enthusiasts. The gala narrates how people construct Xixiang and pursue their dreams through song, dance, tai chi, horse-head fiddle solos and so on. As one of the local cultural brands, the festival has been held every two years since 2006.

“Colorful Xixiang,” a collection of performances in Xixiang Dream Show, earned plaudits at the ceremony. The Xixiang Dream Show was a talent competition held during the culture and art festival. This competition attracted wide attention and nearly 1,000 participants. With no age limits, the competition turns an ordinary man into a star. The competition has become one of the best signature events in Xixiang.

To discover, cultivate and inspire talented artists, Xixiang Subdistrict has been active in holding various events such as weekend concerts, public dance competitions, talent competitions, and pop song competitions to create opportunities and a creative atmosphere for artists.
