Contemporary art collection exhibition in Bao’an
    2018-11-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A contemporary art collection exhibition themed “What Makes a Space Great” is being held at MJH International Art Design Center in Bao’an District.

Curated by Gan Ting and Jiang Yiyi, the exhibition features eight artists: Cai Qian, He Jiandan, Qi Yutian, Shen Qin, Tang Bohua, Tan Ping, Wang Huaxiang and Wang Xiao.

According to the curators, they have selected 33 sets of works of art by artists with the aim of creating a series of contrasts: young artists and veterans, abstract and figurative, acrylic and ink, tradition and contemporary, China and the West.

Tan, a representative of Asian veteran abstract artists, is a master who uses pure abstract language to express the impact of mind and reason in an independent and serious manner, and his abstract creation at the exhibit reconstructs psychological time through images, color and lines.

As one of the leaders of the contemporary ink and wash world, Shen Qin, who was born in the 1960s, presents abstract paintings with refined traditional Chinese painting skill. In an attempt at ink painting, He Jiandan, who was born in the 1970s, chose another path by creating the vivid story and novelty with classic Eastern and Western characters. Tang Baihua, who was born in the 1980s, made an animation with 10,000 pieces of gypsum board.

The curators said they want to find what kind of elements make a space full of soul and become more extraordinary. They believe in the power of art, which shapes and transforms human beings and space.
