Actress apologizes for lying
    2018-12-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN actress has apologized for the groundless accusation she made online against Shenzhen Customs employees over what she described as arrogant and rude attitudes when she was crossing the border at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint.

On her microblog Friday, the actress, Mao Junjie, admitted fault for taking photos and fabricating the accusations online about her experience during an inspection at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint.

On her microblog Friday, Mao claimed that customs officers intentionally slowed down the inspection, opened all of her luggage and checked it layer by layer.

“The inspection lasted about an hour and the attitude of the officers was very rude,” Mao posted on her microblog.

Mao uploaded two photos, showing a male officer pointing at her and a female officer with a serious look.

The online accusation and photos drew the attention of netizens who supported Mao and criticized Shenzhen Bay Customs for low efficiency and wasting taxpayers’ money.

In response, Shenzhen Customs said that Mao was lying about being subjected to a more than one-hour inspection. The video shows the entire process took only nine minutes, from entering the inspection room to her exit.

During the inspection, Mao rushed the staff, complained and later took photos in the restricted area. Although she promised to delete the photos, she later posted them online.
