Medical data shows city’s new health situation
    2018-12-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DERMATOLOGY and gynecology clinics are the most visited by Shenzhen’s male and female workers, respectively, the Shenzhen Evening News reported, quoting a report recently released by the online medical service platform 91160.com.

Meanwhile, the most frequently asked questions are about infertility, irregular menstruation, dermatologic problems and wisdom teeth, the report said.

Additionally, issues such as insomnia, baldness and anxiety are common among local citizens. Residents born in the 1980s struggle the most with insomnia, accounting for 54.08 percent of the total, while people born in the 1970s and 1990s represent 19.64 percent and 26.28 percent, respectively.

In terms of baldness, people born in the 1990s are the most affected group. Moreover, depression, anxiety and insomnia are the three most commonly used words related to psychological issues.

Since 2009, malignant tumors have become the No. 1 cause of death among Shenzhen residents, and people who were born in the 1980s are now among the vulnerable, the News report said.

The website advises that getting a regular physical examination is key to preventing diseases, and that workers should choose their testing programs based on a doctor’s advice and, most importantly, adjust their unhealthy habits for the sake of their health.
