法国奢侈品品牌香奈儿周二宣布弃用蜥蜴皮、鳄鱼皮、蛇皮等珍惜动物皮作为商品原料，成为首家停止使用珍惜动物皮革的奢侈品公司。请看本报周五的报道：

Chanel said Tuesday it would no longer use exotic animal pelts, making it the first luxury fashion house to turn its back on crocodile and lizard skin, a move hailed by animal rights groups.

Its head of fashion Bruno Pavlovsky said that it “would no longer use exotic skins in our future creations,” saying it was becoming more difficult to source high-quality pelts ethically.

报道中的turn one’s back on就是“放弃、不理睬”的意思，后面可以接something或者someone。例如：
