Recruitment exam

THE examination for selecting police aide officers attracted 18,000 applicants nationwide as of Sunday.

It is the third time the city has recruited for the police force since a regulation on the recruitment of police aide officers took effect a year ago. The city offered 1,255 posts, including 324 law enforcement posts and 931 ordinary policing posts.

Following the written test, eligible applicants will have to complete qualification appraisals, psychological tests, physical tests, interviews and health checks before being hired.

Unfinished roads

GUANGMING District will complete 15 unfinished roads before the end of the year, the district’s public work bureau said. At present, 11 roads have been completed.

Boss detained

THE boss of a dump truck company has been criminally detained for work safety negligence and his liability in a fatal accident involving one of his drivers that killed one and injured four others at an intersection in Bao’an District in September.

An investigation showed the owner of the trucks, who wasn’t identified, had subcontracted each of his three trucks to work for a transport company for 8,500 yuan (US$1,232) per month.

The boss allowed his truck on the road even though he knew it was overloaded.

In the accident, the dump truck overturned and buried a courier, according to police. The transport company was ordered to halve its business.

More air routes

SHENZHEN Airlines will add 26 routes, including seven international routes, next year, sources from the company said.

The additions include international routes from Shenzhen to Hanoi and Jakarta, and from Guangzhou to Phuket Island.

Domestically, it will open a route from Shenzhen to Diqing in Yunnan Province.

Work force

THE employed population in Shenzhen had reached 11.28 million by the end of October, statistics from Shenzhen Municipal Human Resource and Social Security Bureau showed.

The registered unemployment rates stood at 2.29 percent by the end of October, which is lower than the national figures.

Between January and October, the city created 89,000 new job opportunities, an increase of 11.3 percent over the same period last year.
