Ex-official prosecuted

LIU YIMING, former director of Futian’s transport bureau, has been prosecuted for allegedly taking 6.6 million yuan (US$955,680) in bribes, sources from Shenzhen People’s Procuratorate showed.

According to prosecutors, Liu abused his power to ensure others profited in project biddings.

Electronic invoice

THE national tax authority and Shenzhen’s tax bureau will cooperate with Tencent to build a smart tax lab, enabling enterprises to issue block chain invoices on the WeChat platform.

This function will be available for small and medium-sized enterprises that support WeChat payment and need to issue invoices.

Job position

PINGDI Subdistrict in Longgang District recently offered a position with an annual salary of 140,000 yuan. The main responsibility of this job is to write official documents.

The hiring process includes a written examination. Strong candidates will then be invited for a job interview.

Shenzhen Talents Human Resources Co. Ltd. is handling the recruitment.

School slot shortage

LONGHUA District is facing a shortage of 10,000 slots for school children entering primary school next September.

The district is building new schools and some students will be diverted to schools far from their homes, according to a notice issued by the district’s education bureau.

The district’s public schools have tried to accommodate more students in 2018, but there are still 8,000 children who couldn’t be enrolled due to failing to provide sufficient documents. In 2018, the district built eight new schools and offered 17,400 new school slots.

In 2019, public and private schools won’t be able to accommodate all school-aged children, even at full capacity.
