THE Italian production company behind HBO’s “The Young Pope” and “My Brilliant Friend” are developing a drama series based on the life of Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn. Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli’s of the Italian shingle Wildside will develop the series together with Hepburn’s son Luca Dotti and Italian journalist Luigi Spinola, authors of the New York Times bestseller “Audrey at Home, Memories of My Mother’s Kitchen.” The biography traces the life of Hepburn from her childhood in the Netherlands during World War II to her time in Hollywood as an actress and in Rome as a wife and mother to her final years as a philanthropist traveling the world for UNICEF. Gianani and Mieli said the TV series will focus on Hepburn’s formative years and that Dotti will be closely involved in the show’s development, contributing his “unprecedented” historical research from that period in his mother’s life. Production of the project is set to start in 2020.(SD-Agencies) |
