Netflix is testing an instant-replay feature
    2018-12-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

奈飞测试重播影视片段的功能

Netflix is testing a feature that flags up* crucial scenes and asks viewers if they wish to re-watch them but it hasn’t gone down well with users.

The streaming giant is testing out the use of pop-up notifications*, which flash up with “Watch That Scene Again” in the corner of the screen during the most important parts of a program.

But many customers have slammed them as “distracting* and obnoxious*.” Customers bemoaned the feature on Twitter, with several people complaining about the icons ruining their viewer experience.

One user, Emily Lampkins, said on Twitter: “If I wanted stupid pop-ups in the middle of my movie I could watch for free anywhere online, your ‘Watch That Scene Again’ feature is complete garbage. I opted out but not before having my mind blown at how dedicated you are to making your service completely unusable.”

Others labelled the feature stupid, dumb, annoying and irritating. One user even threatened to cancel their account if they persist, saying, “If I see any distracting pop-ups asking if I want to watch that scene again, I shall be cancelling my account.”
