Cop comforts dog hit by car
    2018-12-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A LAW enforcement officer in Florida, the U.S., is going viral due to a picture of him comforting a dog in distress that did the rounds on the Internet.

Deputy Joshua Fiorelli was seen petting the pooch as it laid on the grass covered in the policeman’s jacket Sunday, while they waited for help after she was hit by a car.

The canine received ample attention from the cop Sunday after the incident and a passer-by took a snap when he noticed the kind act.

Carlos Irizzy was walking his own pet along Royal Palm Drive in Kissimmee that morning when he captured the moment on camera because it was such an unusual sight.

“This is something you don’t see every day,” the witness told WFTV.com.

But the law enforcement officer had no idea he was about to appeal the hearts of animal lovers everywhere.

He didn’t even know anyone was watching when he did the good deed and waited with his injured new furry friend until animal control arrived.

Fiorelli said, “It was cold out. She was wet. She didn’t have anyone there, so I decided to be that person.

“I know a lot of dogs become defensive when they get hurt. She was not defensive at all.”

The dog is now recovering at Osceola County Animal Shelter and is only wagging her tail at times after getting the scrapes.

However the canine is expected to do well after surgery which could take place today.

Fiorelli advised the owner to get a microchip for the pooch to help keep a close eye on her.
