Creative festival looks to the future at F518 Idea Land
    2018-12-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN array of salons, exhibitions, forums and exchange activities featuring creative cultures were carried out at F518 Idea Land in Bao’an District from Dec. 6 to 20 as the industrial park’s key annual event.

The main purpose of this year’s festival was to mark the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up and to review Shenzhen’s efforts, as well as the development of creative cultural industries over the past four decades.

Themed “Future Tense for Entrepreneurs,” the carnival kicked off Dec. 7, gathering hundreds of the makers and entrepreneurs settled in the industrial park to share their experiences in starting and operating businesses.

During the carnival, the industrial park also invited performers and magicians to entertain the guests. Later in the evening, F518 Idea Land awarded 10 entrepreneurs in the industrial park to recognize their innovative spirit.

A roundtable forum was organized during the festival to focus on the latest information around creative cultural industries. The forum attracted the founders of many well-known enterprises, including Wang Jie, CEO of VR Technology Holdings Ltd., Wang Maolin, co-founder of Standard Robots, and Su Bo, CEO of Shenzhen AR Technologies Co. Ltd.

Industrial design was one of the key themes of the creative cultural festival, and a salon was organized for the afternoon of Dec. 9, where three guests from different fields shed light on industrial design.

Liu Bohai, CEO of Sunrise Impression Design Group, Wang Fuqiang, founder of an incubator of intellectual property called Universe, as well as Fang Xianming, president of Shenzhen Fufeng Motorcycle Club, were guest speakers at the salon held in a café inside the industrial park. Their inspiring speeches shared insightful perspectives with their fellow participants.

From Dec. 6 to 20, the industrial park organized an exhibition featuring possible future scenarios for creative cultural industries. Companies in cultural industries were invited to build interactive booths to show how creative cultural products and innovative technologies might be used in the future.
