Immersive digital art exhibition in town
    2018-12-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The immersive digital art exhibition “Expect the Unexpected” is being held at Mountain View in OCT-LOFT.

Organized by GeeksArt, the exhibition features 10 digital works of art: “Doors of Perception,” “Less Ego is More,” “Wavelet,” “Organic Neuron,” “Eternity in Your Eyes,” “There Is the Mountain,” “Psychedelic Temple,” “The Flow of Metabolism,” “The Plankton” and “Deep Space.”

By exploring science through art, “Expect the Unexpected” creates an immersive space featuring the universe, nature, cities and elements using digital technologies. The audience can gain a sense of continuity in the fantasy world.

The concept for “Doors of Perception” is from the book by Aldous Huxley with the same title. Going through an array of light “doors,” visitors embark on an unknown journey of human life. Reminiscent of the night forest in the movie “Avatar,” “Organic Neuron” creates a light “forest” out of flying “fireflies.” “Less Ego Is More” presents an immersive audiovisual feast made up of mirrors and lights. It breaks the cognitive model of time and space in our daily experience and will let you experience the vastness of the “universe.” “There Is the Mountain” is a zen-style new media art installation utilizing traditional Chinese ink painting images. “The Plankton” carries the message that in the boundless universe, everyone is a “plankton.” “Deep Space” pays tribute to the lonely cosmos and offers a splendid “starry sky.” “The Metabolism of the City” reflects the flow of life through infinite urban space.

The other three works are waiting for visitors to discover.
