Japanese designers Tomoko Ikegai and Hirotoshi Sawada, Hong Kong-based designer Elaine Ng and Beijing University of Technology associate professor Liu Yongqi will give a talk titled “Arts Make Space” at Bay Talk, an idea-sharing event.

One of Ikegai’s most high-profile projects is Tsutaya Electrics, a sleek home appliance store inside the Futako Tamagawa Rise shopping mall. Born in Tokyo, Ikegai spent time in New York City as a youngster and living abroad for many years made Ikegai come to appreciate Tokyo even more each time she returned, and it helped her define what she sees as one of her hometown’s most distinctive qualities.

Ng, also known as the “techno fairy” by Elle Décor, is the founder of The Fabrick Lab. She brings together textiles, electronics, biomimicry, interiors and installations. She is a visionary multi-media artist and a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London where she earned her MA in textile futures with distinction.

Bay Talk is an idea-sharing event where unprecedented and inspiring concepts can be conveyed through stories.
