R&D base

FUTIAN District and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement Monday to set up a technology innovation platform at Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Zone on the Shenzhen side.

The district government will support the institute in setting up a medical research center and a high-end medical equipment innovation center in the border area with Hong Kong.

Property certificates

THE city’s real estate registration center issued three copies of property certificates to village shareholding companies in Pinghu, Nanwan and Baolong subdistricts to recognize the legality of their factory houses and official buildings.

Historically, the buildings collectively owned by villages had no certificates and were not tradable. After the companies received the certificates, they were allowed to trade the properties for industrial use on the market.

This is the first time that the city has issued property ownership certificates to such buildings.

Health-care products

A MAN in his 80s surnamed Zeng spent 1 million yuan (US$144,928) over eight years on health-care products, which were sold at extremely high prices.

The man’s son received a 70,000-yuan refund after arguing with an apiculture store called Caijian, claiming the store had exaggerated the efficacy of its products in promotions to elderly people.

Following field checks, the Bao’an market supervision bureau confirmed that the shop had been operating without licenses.
